Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran was a participant in 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. She has participated in 53 deals since February 2020. The most significant was a $350,000 investment to pay for 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child of 10 from a working-class Irish-Catholic family was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was a bouncing from job to job during Corcoran's childhood. Her family depended sometimes on food delivered by the local grocer who would deliver free food. Corcoran recalls that her father was an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with disrespect and disrespect, especially when having consumed alcohol. Corcoran had difficulty in school, and was later told that she had dyslexia. Corcoran attended the local Catholic elementary school and started high school in St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran dropped a few classes during her first year before transferring to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
